When to call us out
If it can't wait until morning, don't let it.
Burst or leaking pipes
Water where it shouldn’t be, coming through a ceiling or under the floor.
No heating or hot water
Boiler locked out or dead, especially with kids or elderly at home.
Suspected gas leak
Smell of gas — call us, but call the National Gas line on 0800 111 999 first.
Overflowing or blocked toilet
The only loo in the house backing up or overflowing.

Find your stopcock
Usually under the kitchen sink. Turn it clockwise to shut the water off at the mains.

Kill the power if water is near it
If water is anywhere near sockets or the consumer unit, switch off at the fuse box.
